Day 4 (Puerto Vallarta)

We had nothing planned for Puerto Vallarta, as it was the last stop we decided to wait and see how tired we were and what we felt like doing. We really wanted to do the zip lining in the rainforest, which is very popular in PV (I think there are over 10 companies that offer it) but I am glad we didn't schedule it because I could barely walk! I was SO sore from horseback riding! So we just took a cab into the main part of town where the shops are along the boardwalk. We walked around a bit, took some pictures, and then decided to go to a beach near the cruise ship. The cruise recommended going to beaches at hotels, so that is what we did. There had been a lot of rain the day before so I was worried about getting in the water with all the gross runoff. Here in LA, they say do not get in the water for 24 hours after rain because of all the pollution in the runoff. I sat in a chair and began to read a book but every *literally* 2 minutes someone came over and asked me if I wanted to buy their rugs, necklaces, hats, or whatever handmade in China item they claimed they make themselves. So annoying!! So we didn't stay too long and headed back to the ship for our couples massages! Which was heavenly!

PV was very Americanized. We saw Staples, Starbucks, Outback, Chili's, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Sams's etc etc. We also saw trucks of Mexican Military with M-16's. That's always fun. We wouldn't go back. The area was clean, and seemed nice, but just not my thing. Maybe if we had ventured into the rainforest we would have liked it better.

Those last few pictures could be postcards!! The Mexican military carrying M-16's would have definitely been a little scary. Good thing you had a Marine to protect you.

Thanks! I am pretty sure Jeff does not like to be around people with M-16's unless he also has one (in another country)...he was like oh this makes me feel greeeeaaatttt.
