Back to the Real World

Well we are back home from a wonderful vacation! For anyone that doesn't know, we went on a 7 night cruise aboard the Mariner of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. We had so much fun and were constantly doing something on the ship. We did a ton of fun things, so here is a quick run down of Day 1:

We boarded the ship around noon. We ate lunch at the Windjammer buffet (total craziness as everyone decided to do that) while waiting for our room to be ready. We played ping pong and a round of miniature golf (pretty sure I won) and then went to the top deck while the boat left San Pedro Harbor. We saw a ton of blue whales as we were leaving LA so that was neat! Then we went and got ready for the evening. We had signed up for the Murder Mystery Dinner which was to take place that night. The dinner started out in Ellington's Martini Bar on the top level of the ship, where we were greeted by Champagne and passed appetizers. The cast then acted out the premise of the murder mystery, which was cheesy but hilarious. Then we were escorted to the Portofino restaurant (a speciality restaurant) where we were seated with a family of four from Southern California. The two daughters were in their 20's and we had a blast with the entire family. The father is a Judge here in LA. We were served several courses and then the cast walked around and we were allowed to ask them 1 question to try to figure out the murderer. After dinner we watched the Parade in the Promanade, and then headed to our room for the night.

Saying Goodbye to LA

Our ship had the BEST mojitos (fresh mint...made perfectly!)
