So Much to be Thankful For!

We celebrated our sixth annual Thanksgiving with the Nelsons at their home this year. Because we go home for Christmas we stay here for Thanksgiving and are so thankful for friends who are like family to spend the holiday with. We all pitch in cooking and invite over whoever has no where else to go for the day. It's always a day of yummy food, lots of football and great times with friends. Jeff is in charge of the turkey (a 22 pounder this year) and I make pies, sweet potatoes and Grand Marnier Cranberries and we make the stuffing together. It's all so delicious!

This year Amy's Birthday fell on Thanksgiving day so we went to the casino that night to celebrate. Despite getting stranded at the casino for two hours because no cabs would come get us, we had a great time. (It's a really long story but it ended with the security guards finally driving us home at 2:00 am because the hotel was sold out and no cabs would come....at the time not so funny, but now it's a good story!)

What a weekend of football! A huge OU win over OSU, a Boise State, USC and LSU loss, a Notre Dame win and a Chargers win to round out the weekend. Near perfection!

Every year I make this Sour Cream Pumpkin Bundt Cake....we eat it Thanksgiving morning will preparing the meal. It is soooooo good! The recipe can be found here.
